Purchasing a Piano or Digital Keyboard
It may seem obvious but you'll need a piano or some type of digital keyboard to practice with before beginning lessons. Although I recommend that students purchase an acoustic piano (when budget and space allow), a good digital keyboard can get you started. If you're considering buying an acoustic piano (an instrument that makes sound by mechanical means), a great resource is "The Piano Book" by Larry Fine.
