I don't know how many parents get to hear their kids say, "I can't wait for the recital!" That's what my son said this year as he looked forward to playing a piece he composed with Scott's help. Not only that, he got to perform it with a combo made up of adult musicians, so he could really see his piece come to life. Scott's lessons are never about methodically going through a lesson book; he tailors the lessons to each student's interests - in my son's case, jazz, composition and improvisation. I don't know how many times my son has left his lesson saying, "That was a great lesson!" and sat right down at the piano when he got home to keep working on some musical idea he and Scott were exploring. Despite being a busy teen with a full course load at school, multiple sports, and a band instrument, he is more committed to piano than ever, thanks to Scott's tremendous gift for inspiring his enthusiasm and helping him grow as a musician. We couldn't be more pleased!

Our son has had a great experience with Scott Wright at Piano Plus Teaching Studio. Scott's teaching style encourages improvisation and fosters growth in both musical theory and composition, while at the same time making it fun. His expertise covers a wide range of musical genres- from blues to jazz to classical. We're happy we found Piano Plus Teaching Studio!

Both our daughters have taken piano lessons from Scott for several years. Scott is a talented teacher, thoroughly professional, and a kind, honest and likeable individual. He gifts his students a friendship with music that can last a lifetime. By tuning his lessons to suit the needs, moods, skills and capabilities of his students, he helps build a wholesome relationship with piano and, music in general. His lessons include ‘musical adventures’ stemming from the fancies of his students, which often end up being very enjoyable pieces that show-case the talent and creativity of the student and teacher team.

Scott is an amazing musician and an inspiring teacher. He has aided me in exploring my musical tastes, and through his lessons has exposed me to many genres of music that I have grown to respect and enjoy. I've appreciated Scott's patient approach to teaching and his ability to tailor lessons to meet my specific needs --he always had a trick or tip to help me through a piece of music I was struggling with. Another aspect that makes Scott's studio so unique is that it is always evolving --he has provided me the opportunity to collaborate with other musicians, and digitally compose and edit original songs. Scott is truly passionate about what he does, and he generously shares that gift with his students.

Scott is an excellent teacher for our son. He encourages creativity and is great about challenging him just enough to help him stay motivated. He is also friendly and easy to work with!

My son has made great progress learning how to play the piano since taking lessons with Scott for about a year. Scott also encourages his students to be creative while learning about music as a whole. For example, he will compose original pieces in collaboration with his students and invite guest musicians who play other instruments to join in on annual recital. I would highly recommend Scott as a piano teacher.

My daughter has learned and grown a lot in her piano abilities while working with Scott. Scott encourages creativity and originality. Last year he proposed a mixed media project where they collaborated to develop an original piece inspired by my daughter's artwork. Scott also affords his students the unique opportunity to perform with other musicians for their annual music showcase.

Scott has a great ability to match a style of teaching to the student. He will pick music, and even compose music, that is appropriate to both the student's ability and interests. He is great for all ages of players from the very young to adults. We especially appreciate the effort he puts into the recitals where the student has the opportunity to play with a band, which allows the student to fully appreciate the music they are playing. I recommend him without reservation.

My daughter started learning piano with Scott three months ago, and it's been an amazing experience. He's patient, kind, and really encourages the kind of creativity in music that's the foundation of future improvisation and song-writing. As a teacher, he clearly cares deeply about all of his students and their success, giving them opportunities to play in showcases and the support needed to create and perform original pieces. I initially wasn't sure how things would go since my daughter (who is almost 5 years old) is definitely very active and often has trouble focusing, but Scott has seemingly endless patience for her, and she absolutely adores him. Getting her to practice at home is easy when I remind her that Scott will want to hear the beautiful piece she's working on when they have their next lesson, because she's eager to impress him. I sit in on her lessons, and at the end of each session Scott always writes down and reviews with me what we should cover during the week at home. Any student should be so lucky to have a teacher who encourages them to do their best and to truly enjoy music. I'd recommend Scott Wright as a piano teacher without hesitation.

My son has studied with Scott for more than 3 years. He enjoyed his lessons very much. He improved tremendously on his piano playing. He enjoys composing and improvising. He loves to play with various musicians with the music projects he developed under Scott’s guidance. Scott made piano learning fun and engaging.

Scott is an exceptional teacher who sees music not as a mere collection of notes but as one of many paths to a fulfilling life. His students experience not only solid musical pedagogy, but also insight into the connection between music and creativity and between music and life. He is one of the few music teachers who not only allows but encourages students to use music to express themselves. Highly recommended for students of any age.
